Fire courses are held periodically throughout the year and can be standalone or shared courses.
The courses start with the basic Fire Awareness for all staff and then go toward the Fire Warden courses for key staff.
We hold annual refreshers to ensure skills are kept up to speed.
Fire Awareness Courses concentrate on the Identification and risk of Fire in the workplace.
It covers the Fire Triangle which identifies the elements that must be present for fire to start. The course highlights the dangers of smoke and its effects on the human body.
The course includes a free handout and notes, as well as a powerpoint presentation. Courses are certificated.
The Fire Warden Course Identifies and allows the candidates to handle & use a live extinguisher. The candidates receive more in-depth knowledge regarding the risks of fire and its outcome if left unchecked. The course material contains a Fire Warden checklist which can be easily adapted to the workplace and act as a memory aid for checks which should be regularly carried out.
Course materials include a workbook with detailed information.
Each candidate receives a “Fire Warden” High Visibility Vest. Each course is certificated.
We also hold Arson Awareness courses for sites which may be at risk. This course concentrates on Identification of likely hazards and steps for prevention. Arson is an unlikely risk but is also ever present. Arsonists do not always have a grievance against the company involved it can be mere opportunity which drives them to select the site. All aspects of Arson are dealt with in the course and materials are provided.
